March 18th theme: GOOD, GREEN JOBS
This week, we will be asking MP’s to “Create an aggressive strategy to implemented Good, Green Jobs”.
What does that mean?
• Create jobs and just transition strategies for Canada’s hard-hit sectors to protect and promote good-paying jobs for Canadian workers in the green economy
• Provide the necessary funding for Aboriginal education and training programs, with a special focus on the green economy
• Involve young people in the planning and developing of retraining projects
Phone the MPs listed below by calling 1 (866) 599-4999 and asking for them. If they are not available tell the staff you want to leave a message for them.
Tell them something like:
“The G8/G20 meetings are taking place in Canada this June and I want the world to know that people in Canada want leadership and concrete action on climate change. Canada can’t afford to prorogue climate change any further. The Canadian government needs to implement an aggressive strategy to create good, green jobs. This is one of many policy asks I would like our elected officials to seriously consider. Hundreds of people will be calling for the next several weeks to ensure that all our demands are heard and acknowledged. Thank you.”

Then tell the following opposition MPs the same thing:
