Tell them:
“The G8/G20 meetings are taking place in Canada this June and I want the world to know that people in Canada want leadership and concrete action on climate change. Canada can’t afford to prorogue climate change any further. As one of the world’s biggest polluters, we need to stop subsidies to dirty fossil fuel industries within five years, while ensuring a just transition for workers in these industries. This is one of many policy asks I would like to share with our elected officials. Hundreds of people will be calling for the next several weeks to ensure that all our demands are heard and acknowledged.Thank you.”

2. Stop subsidies to dirty fossil fuel industries within five years, ensure a just transition for workers in these industries, and
3. Implement an aggressive strategy to create good, green jobs;
4. Allocate targeted funding to address the impact of climate change to developing countries and displaced migrants, and Canada’s northern, rural, indigenous communities and low-income peoples;
5. Sign the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and respect principles of Free, Prior and Informed Consent for indigenous and impacted communities so they can participate effectively at all levels of decision-making to address climate change.
