Last year 350.org mobilized millions of people world-wide to take action on climate change with their international days of climate action.

Unfortunately despite this outpouring of public support the United Nations Climate Change Meetings in Copenhagen at the end of 2009 did not achieve the fair, agressive, and legally-binding climate agreement we were all hoping for.

Recognizing that we need to pick ourselves up after Copenhagen and continue to push forward for climate justice, 350.org has partnered with 10:10 Global and NGOs around the world (including the Canadian Youth Climate Coalition) to make an even more impressive public statement this year. On October 10, 2010 the world will throw a Global Work Party – installing solar panels on schools, building bike paths, planting community gardens, etc.

In preparation for this exciting day, during the week of April 22-29 MeetUps will take place around the world to brainstorm, plan, get involved and get going. The Canadian Youth Climate Coalition is hoping that youth around Canada will step up and decide to host MeetUps (or join MeetUps that are already planned) around the country.
