On the weekend of September 8-10, 2006, 45 youth organizations from across Canada came together to form the Canadian Youth Climate Coalition – to stand united for a sensible climate future. The first meeting brought together 60 young people. Immediately following the founding meeting, local groups of volunteers developed in Ottawa and Edmonton, with the aid of CYCC founding members. Through these groups and with the guidance of a dedicated volunteer Council, the CYCC became newsmakers.
The Canadian Youth Climate Coalition is a united front of youth from across Canada tackling the biggest challenge of our generation, the climate crisis. Acting locally, provincially, federally, and internationally, we combine our forces to educate and empower youth. We organize campaigns and actions to create the change the need to see in the world.
Working in schools and communities from coast to coast to coast, we are calling for and building a just and prosperous transition to the new Canada we all need to see. This is our future, its too important to leave up to anyone else.

Le Coalition canadienne des jeunes pour le climat est un front uni de la jeunesse de partout au Canada qui lutte contre le plus grand défi de notre génération, la crise climatique. Agir au niveau local, provincial, fédéral et international, nous combinons nos forces pour enseigner et donner le pouvoir aux jeunes. Nous organisons des campagnes et des actions pour créer le changement nous avons besoin de voir dans le monde.
Nous travaillons dans les écoles et les communautés à travers le pays pour demandons et la construire d’une transition juste et plus prospère pour le nouveau Canada nous avons besoin de voir. Il est notre avenir, et il est trop importante pour la laisser à quelqu’un d’autre.
