BYTE is a youth-initiated and youth-directed organization that embraces youth culture to raise youth voice. Through the arts, creative public actions, performances, forums and camps, we bring youth towards equality by allowing youth to be loud and proud. BYTE’s perspective is that youth have a crucial role in society: we exude energy, creativity, change, activism and ideas. BYTE’s job is to strengthen youth voice so that we can take our spots in building the lives that each of us envisions.

The Canadian Auto Workers Youth Network (CAWYN) was created out of the need to reach out to young workers beyond the borders of traditional local union structures. Working with CAW local union youth committees across Canada, the CAWYN provides a space for activists under the age of 30 to share information and experiences, to actively engage in workplace and community issues that affect the day-to-day lives of young people and to mobilize for direct action.

The Canadian Federation of Students and the Canadian Federation of Students-Services were formed in 1981 to provide students with an effective and united voice, provincially and nationally. At the time, it was recognized that for students to be truly effective in representing their collective interests to the federal and provincial governments, it was vital to unite under one banner.

Today, over one-half million students from more than 80 university and college students' unions across Canada belong to the Federations.

The Canadian Labour Congress is the largest democratic and popular organization in Canada with over 3 million members.  The Canadian Labour Congress brings together Canada's national and international unions, the provincial and territorial federations of labour and 130 district labour councils.  Youth issues are at the forefront of the daily work at the Canadian Labour Congress thanks to the activities of a National Youth Representative, the Vice-President representing Young Workers on Executive Council, and the Young Workers Working Group representing affiliates organizations.

Established in 1990 within the United States, IEN was formed by grassroots Indigenous peoples and individuals to address environmental and economic justice issues (EJ). IEN's activities include building the capacity of Indigenous communities and tribal governments to develop mechanisms to protect our sacred sites, land, water, air, natural resources, health of both our people and all living things, and to build economically sustainable communities.IEN accomplishes this by maintaining an informational clearinghouse, organizing campaigns, direct actions and public awareness, building the capacity of community and tribes to address EJ issues, development of initiatives to impact policy, and building alliances among Indigenous communities, tribes, inter-tribal and Indigenous organizations, people-of-color/ethnic organizations, faith-based and women groups, youth, labor, environmental organizations and others. IEN convenes local, regional and national meetings on environmental and economic justice issues, and provides support, resources and referral to Indigenous communities and youth throughout primarily North America - and in recent years - globally.

Our mission is to empower youth in Canada ages 14-26 to become active community leaders who contribute to making Canada a sustainable society. To this end, we educate young people about ecological and social sustainability; we challenge unjust and environmentally destructive systems by using a solutions based approach; and we give voice to the new generation of young people who want to inherit a world worth inheriting: one where social justice and ecology are at the centre of society's priorities.
